Community Nursing Units Fire Improvement & Up-grade works
Works were phases over 6 community nursing units as part of HIQA upgrades.

- Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar
- MacBride Community Nursing Unit, Westport
- St Augustines Community Nursing Unit, Ballina
- Sacred Heart Hospital, Roscommon.
- Plunkett Home, Boyle
The works were done in 2 phases, Phase A and Phase B.
The works had to be completed in a very restricted time frame.
Both phases of the works were completed fully and in the time specified.
At all times the Nursing Homes were fully operational during the works, this involved many interfacing measures with the live units where staff, residents and the general public were in close proximity. T. Connolly and Sons Ltd at all times had to ensure that there was no danger to the public or HSE Staff,
We co-ordinated 3 sets of works crews comprising of electricians, plumbers, carpenters, flooring contractors and painters to complete works in the 6 nursing homes to a high standard.
Works included : removal of existing doors, extending the openings, replacement fire rated doors, painting, flooring, joinery, demolitions, new partitions, installation of smoke vents, installation of sanitry ware, electrical items and all ancillary works including drainage, works to car parks, and internal foul water works.
