Demolition of an existing building. The construction of two new housing buildings to house the new Okapi arrivals within the African plains area. The construction of a new adventure forest playground within the main Zoo area. New glazing to the Tiger enclosure, other works within the Tiger enclosure. All finishes and fittings were to a very high specification to meet the zoo’s requirements. The works were carried out during the peak visitor’s season when large numbers of the public in very close proximity to the works. T. Connolly & Sons safety management systems ensured that the health and safety of the public, the Zoo’s staff and any operatives involved in the construction works was paramount.
